The Challenge
The property sits vacant most of the week, meaning any lawn issues go unnoticed until the client arrives — often on a Friday evening when there is no time to address them.
Absentee ownership creates a specific kind of lawn care challenge: without someone on-site daily, overgrowth, bare patches, and edge deterioration can accumulate quickly between visits. For a weekend cottage, a two-week-old lawn is not a lawn — it’s a problem waiting to embarrass the owner in front of guests.
The terrain also presented the typical Muskoka combination of shaded and open sections, uneven ground, and weather variability that makes consistent results difficult without professional-grade equipment and practised technique.
The client wanted a service where they never had to think about the lawn — not just one that cut the grass, but one that actively monitored condition and flagged developing issues before a visit.

Our Approach
Weekly visits were scheduled and completed reliably throughout the season, with lawn health checks included on every call.
The programme ran from May through October, with each weekly visit covering precision mowing, detail trimming along all edges, and a full blow-off of the driveway, patio, and walkway surfaces. No debris was left behind on hard surfaces, and the lawn finish met the same standard every time.
Lawn health monitoring was integrated into each visit rather than treated as a separate service — signs of grub activity, thinning turf, or developing brown patches were noted and communicated to the client directly by call or text, with the option to address issues before the next scheduled visit.
The client received consistent updates and knew the property was being looked after between visits. Calls and texts were never left unanswered, which was a priority for an owner who couldn’t physically check on the property mid-week.
