The Challenge

A full Muskoka winter left the property with fallen branches, winter-killed plant material, and matted debris across the lawn and garden beds that needed clearing before the season could begin.

By the time the snow melted, the property had accumulated the typical aftermath of a northern Ontario winter: downed branches from ice storms, debris matted into the lawn surface, dead plant material that had not been removed the previous fall, and overgrown sections along pathways and sitting areas. The client wanted the property guest-ready for the Victoria Day long weekend without being on-site to manage the work.

In the fall, the challenge shifted to leaf volume — a common issue in Muskoka where mature trees drop heavily across lawns and garden beds within a compressed window. Beds needed clearing and cutting back, and gutters and hard surfaces had to be cleaned before the first freeze.

In both cases, the client required detailed communication about what had been done, since they were managing the property remotely.

Our Approach

Both cleanups followed a systematic full-property approach, with work completed before the client’s arrival and a direct communication summary provided after each visit.

The spring cleanup covered the full property: fallen branches and storm debris hauled off, the lawn dethatched and given its first cut with crisp edging throughout, garden beds cleared of winter-killed material and re-edged, dead plants removed, shrubs lightly pruned and shaped, and all walkways and patio areas cleared and guest-ready.

The fall cleanup addressed leaf accumulation across the entire property — beds cleared of spent plant material, lawn areas blown and cleared, hard surfaces cleaned, and all debris removed and hauled off. The property was left closed, tidy, and ready for the off-season.

After each visit, the client received a direct update by text confirming what had been completed and flagging anything that warranted attention before the next season. No surprises — just a property that was ready.
